U.M.A.R.A. Go Green Initiative

U.M.A.R.A. cares about the environment!  We want to do our best to help prevent further damage to our environment by implementing a new Go Green Initiative. 

 

U.M.A.R.A.’s overall Go Green purpose is to give back to the global surroundings through environmental initiatives. We truly believe that every person can make a difference and each little deed adds up to make a substantial global influence.

 

We all know that the world has a fixed amount of natural resources - some of which are already depleted.  So as population growth greatly strains our finite resources, there are fewer resources available.  If we intend to leave our children and grandchildren with the same standard of living we have enjoyed, we must preserve the foundation of that standard of living.

Starting in 2010 all tournament awards will be medals instead of trophies.  This will help to reduce the amount of plastics introduced into our environment, and reduce the amount of hydrocarbons needed.

 

In keeping with its "green" philosophy, U.M.A.R.A. will also debut E-Notifications. With E-Notifications, U.M.A.R.A. members and interested parties will receive tournament, meeting, and event notifications electronically rather than using traditional paper flyers in the U.S. Mail.

 

U.M.A.R.A. is asking that everyone register by providing an e-mail address so that tournaments and other events notifications can be provided electronically.
